Ten of us had a lovely walk on the Northwest Lancaster Rail Trail. With looming rain and chill, we prepared for the worst, taking jackets and rain gear. Kate, dressed in short pants and T-Shirt, won the "best dressed" contest as it was hot and dry! We walked about 5 miles along the river, then drove over to McCleary's to enjoy lunch in their lovely back room.
Many of us will be away for the next walk and we discussed
other alternatives, but we have decided to stay with our usual date, Friday, November 18 starting at 9:30 (we are
switching to later starts now that winter is approaching
Leslie will host November. There's a great little hike called
the Hollow Creek Trail in Jacobus that’s about a 4 mile hike near Nixon Park.
Carol will lead the December walk. We will repeat last year's
walk along the York side of the river, ending with lunch at John Wright
Restaurant.
