The Reservoir and York College Gallery

Thirteen of us Rambled from York College up Reservoir Hill last Friday...I discovered some streets and paths I never knew existed--thanks Deb for leading us.

Our next Ramble will be in southern York county so count on a longer day and ramble. We will meet at 8:30 on Friday March 17 in the Ollie parking lot off Mt. Rose/ Haines Road and caravan to Urey Overlook Park, 1225 Furnace Road, Airville. We will park here and there will be two options for hiking from this spot--

1. Mason Dixon Trail at Otter Creek- which is a 4.5 mile hilly and rocky trail down and along Otter Creek then up to Urey Overlook. It is gorgeous but more challenging then our other hikes.  I would recommend hiking boots and poles for this and I do have an extra set of poles, although they aren't essential.

2. Urey Overlook trail-  which is about 2 miles and the last section of the previous trail but gives you some great views.

Indian Steps Museum is down there but will not be open but this is a nice add on for the walk.
I am not aware of any restaurants down there so pack snacks and drinks for the ramble...

If you didn't get the Sunday paper, you missed the article by our dear Rosa about her childhood experiences as an immigrant.  Way to go Rosa for speaking out!!

Enjoy the warm weather this week....
